$3,000 donated to the Women's Cancer Foundation

Ova2you is back after a brief time out and there’s lots of news to report!

The most important news is that thanks to all your support through afternoon teas, the launch, Shine a Light, and donations Ova2you was able to make a donation of $3,000 to the Women’s Cancer Foundation/ Ovarian Cancer Institute. This will help fund the Clinical nurse (great work Julene!) who makes the clinical trials happen at the Women’s Hospital. We’ll post more details soon about the important research that is currently underway. read more... »

Ova2you launch, We're official!

Sunday's launch of Ova2you at Shanghai Lings was a wonderful gathering of about 130 people. The place was abuzz as people began arriving at 11.30. Guitarists Daniel and Declan created a relaxed atmosphere, as new and old friends met up, making and strengthening connections, and we savoured the wonderful yum cha, provided by our hosts Wen and Ling.

The speakers powerfully and succinctly drew attention to the need to shed light on ovarian cancer, and created a palpable sense of the urgency and importance of this campaign. read more... »

Home again, again

If you have to be in hospital, 5 North at the Women’s is a good place to be. So many women’s efforts, starting with the amazing Sheila Lee, have gone into making this an attractive place to be. T & H arrived just after I got home yesterday with the evening’s offerings of T’s special lentil soup, piquant pasta and delicious mixed vegetables (secret recipe). After that I felt strong enough to go to bed! read more... »

And then in came the lovely Heather and Tasdan with a scrumptious meal again. Last night it was chicken soup with tiny pasta – Jewish penicillin Tasdan calls it – and gnocchi with home grown tomatoes, parmesan and salad all delivered with a red table cloth and fine china. read more... »
